They say good news comes in threeâs. For the Plymouth North News, the newscast produced by Plymouth North students, that news came on Friday, April 7. Thatâs when the PNN team learned it had placed third in Fox 25âs Best High School Newscast contest, an accomplishment that earned them Tracy Chevrolet Cadillacâs âDriven Studentâ award for the month of April.
The third piece of good news, of course, came with Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac treating the students to a pizza party for their accomplishment. Students recognized for their work as part of the PNN news team include: Lauren Behning, Lyla Brech, Ted Donnelly, Caroline Garrett, Laurie Graham, Mary Hakkila, Chris Hamilton, Tabatha Jeppe, TJ Lynn, Janet McCarthy, Michelle Morano, Daniele Natola and Mitchell Nugent.
âWhen you consider the wide range of schools from all over the Boston area taking part in the Fox 25 contest, placing third is quite an achievement and well deserving of our âDriven Studentâ award,â said Jeff Tracy, president of Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac.
âThe students put a lot of effort into our news broadcasts. Itâs time-consuming and requires a total team effort,â said Shelley Jaruse, PNHS journalism teacher. âWeâre grateful not only to Fox 25 for recognizing the quality of our broadcasts, but to Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac for recognizing the effort of all the students by awarding them the âDriven Studentâ award.â
Tracy Chevrolet Cadillacâs Driven Student program recognizes Plymouth high school students for their performance and achievements in and out of the classroom. Awarded on a monthly basis, recipients are selected by faculty and advisors at the studentâs given school.
