Hotel Chairs for the Professional Traveler

Posted by admin

For most of us, a hotel is a hotel. But if you have the occasion to look at the hotel industry across the board, hotels are often customized to a particular type of customer. The obvious example is the difference between a five star luxury hotel and a motel that you see while driving along the highway. Both do the basic job of providing a bed, shower and television for the traveler. But the five star hotel obviously makes it a point to appeal to the more wealthy customers. A good motel, by contract and comparison, is successful if it is clean, safe and provides a good value to a family traveling on vacation.
Some hotels are children friendly and some are not. But a niche of hotels that has a strong target market that has very specific needs are hotels that are customized to meet the needs or the professional business person on the road. Business people who must travel as part of their jobs have very specific needs and interests. They are also a very attractive customer for a couple reasons.
First of all, the business traveler is often a frequent traveler so the frequency of business is good. If a hotel can become known as a destination of choice to the business community, that hotel will see a lot of repeat business. And business people network a great deal. That means if they find a great hotel that focuses on the needs of the business traveler, they will tell their associates which means more business for you. But maybe the biggest advantage of tailoring your hotel for the business traveler is they are usually working within an expense account. That means they are not nervous about costs and you can see a greater profitability from this kind of traveler because the entire stay is paid for by the company.
The things a business traveler needs are comfort, quiet, service and accommodations of their business needs. Many times a business man or woman will need to work in the room or spread out papers on a table in the lounge or the restaurant. So when you buy furniture for every room in your hotel, from the tables to the lamps to the chairs, you must think of the needs of the adult business customer so he or she will find your hotel to be a place of productivity and rest during a possibly long and demanding business trip.
In social areas such as the restaurant, the bar or the lounge, the chairs must accommodate impromptu business meetings that can spring to life at a moment’s notice. That means that the chairs must be sturdy, comfortable and mobile. If you were to imagine a situation happening in which several business people gather in the lounge and begin to think together about a negotiation or a project, that is a very common occurrence in a business centered hotel. In that situation, one guest may be sitting in a solitary chair reading the Wall Street Journal only to be joined by others and they might find the need to gather chairs around a table and begin working as a group on the spur of the moment.
Creating an environment where such things easily happen is one of the ways business oriented hotels are attractive to their clients. The chairs should be well cushioned so if the meeting drags on for hours, the business people in them meeting never tire. But at the same time, they should be easy to move around so others can be easily added to the meeting and everyone can get around a table for the discussion without the chairs becoming a problem.
Providing outstanding conference and meeting facilities is also an important part of becoming a full service business oriented hotel. That means that your meeting rooms and the furniture that is used there is well designed for presentations or seminars that can go all day or over a number of days. To accommodate this need, you will need to have on hand hundreds of good, comfortable and sturdy conference room chairs. These chairs must be a cut above the conventional “folding” chair. In fact, there should be no potential for folding and you will commonly stack these chairs for storage. But because the conference or seminar setting is generally a long period of time, the chairs must be hard working and retain a good feel for many uses.
At the other end of the spectrum, you will maintain a level of luxury in your suites that can accommodate the CEO level business traveler. Because this caliber of business customer expects nothing but the best, more should be invested in elegance and luxury in design for the chairs that will be part of the decor of that suite. Many times this kind of customer does well with a chair that offers privacy and pampering such as a modified egg design chair which provides structure on all sides for maximum comfort.
When you are decorating your luxury suites, look at the layout of the rooms carefully as the chairs in the master bedroom will be more geared toward a spouse and toward relaxation and recreation. The chairs in the dining or living areas of the suite should still be top quality to fit the lifestyle of these customers but more focused on function and efficiency as well as mobility so the luxury business customer can use the bigger space of a suite for business meetings and discussions as well as for private enjoyment.
The focus on efficiency, privacy, comfort and business should be a driving design principle in every part of the hotel furniture design. In the lobby, chairs should be welcoming, mature and classy so the customer knows as soon as he or she walks in that this is a hotel for adults who are doing business during their stay. The room designs should be laid out so the business person can pull a comfortable chair to the desk area for an extended time of internet research or to write a proposal easily and in comfort.
For a business traveler, the duel goals of comfort and business are constantly being balanced. Because the hotel is a chance to take some pleasure and joy from their long hard days, the rooms and public areas should do all that can be done to make their stay relaxing and stress free. And because business is never far from the mind of a professional traveler, making it easy to go from the business mind set to the personal will make your hotel and the furniture that is there to serve these customers ideally suited to people who travel for a living.

Things to Consider in a Hotel Reservation

Posted by admin

When planning a vacation, especially if it is an out of town or out of the country, doing the proper hotel reservation is as important as your luggage. It is very important, of course, to have a place where you can stay. Well, hotels are not just places that you can stay; they offer a home away from home – unless you have relatives where you can stay. Let us just assume that you do not have relatives or friends in the city or country that you are going, so you really needed a hotel.
The question on hand is, “What do you need to consider in hotel reservations?” Here are some tips that may be helpful for your next trip.
Primarily, decide on where to go. This is just plain common sense. You will not need a hotel if you do not have a place to go. If you have decided where in the world you will bring yourself, your work or your family and friends, consider if you have a relative or friend that lives there. If you are sure that you have someone, at least with a close relationship, lives in your destination of choice then consider asking him or her if you can stay on their place. If not, then opt for a hotel reservation.
Contact a travel agent for easier transactions. They have the knowledge on hotel reservations. This is recommended for first time travelers. Having a travel agent care about your hotel reservations and other travelling needs will eliminate the hassle for you. They can suggest great deals and packages for you.
On the other hand, if you want to have a personal touch on your vacation planning then it is better that you call the hotel of your choice for hotel reservations. What is good about doing it yourself is you can explain to the hotel management your preferences in a room and additional requirements like for example a view of the river or the city skyline. Another advantage is that you can already create rapport between the hotel management and yourself for a better service when you arrive at the hotel of your choice.
Another way of doing a hotel reservation is through the internet. Most hotels are using the internet for online transactions including room reservations. This will be the easiest for you to do when doing hotel reservations.
One very important factor to consider in doing hotel reservations is the annual events or festivities in the destination you chose. This may affect your reservation. Rooms may not be available at those points in time. A recommendation for this instance is that to know what’s going on in the place you want to have your vacation and do your hotel reservation in advance for like a week before your vacation. This will assure you that you will surely have a place to stay and relax.
Whether you will be staying in a five-star luxury hotel or a more affordable and minor inn, doing a hotel reservation in advance can make your vacation hassle-free. You do not have to worry about so much and your vacation will be the vacation of your life.

Affordable Airport Hotel

Posted by admin

Airport hotels are nearby to the central passenger terminals and have affordable tariffs.
Heathrow Hotel is conveniently located and offers good value and affordable services. Among the leading low-priced hotels located in the vicinity of the airport are the Quality Inn, Travel In, Comfort Inn, and Ibis.
Heathrow Hotel Transfers by Hoppa Bus
Hotels are not permitted to run private complimentary transfer buses to the airport terminals. Instead, a fleet of ‘Hoppa Buses’ regulated by the airport authority run on fixed routes, each serving 2 or 3 hotels. Standard fare for all hotels: £4 per person and £0.50 for children.
Hotel Hoppa bus services run to Terminals 1, 2, 3 and Terminal 5 in separate services.
For going from terminal 4 to Central (Terminal 1, 2, 3), you can take the Heathrow Connect train for free. Heathrow connecting trains run every 15 minutes linking Central and Terminal 4.
Buses operate every 15 to 20 minutes via the hotel and airport passenger terminals roughly between 0515 hours and 2300 hours. The fare is £4 per trip per adult and £8 for return.
At Heathrow, it’s worth recollecting the room rate you pay. It may appear inconsequential with all the extras you may rack up. However, in the case of expensive hotels, it may end up very different when you factor in these extras.
Adjacent to the northern side of the airport is the Bath Road, a main hotel strip and overall, the best place to stay. These hotels are actually close by to the central passenger terminals. This is a place where you can enjoy food, drink and entertainment without hurting your budget.
The hotels here are the Holiday Inn (Bath Road), Renaissance, Park Inn, Marriott, Radisson Edwardian, and Sheraton Skyline. There’s a little supermarket and an Italian restaurant next to the Park Inn and a pub doing steaks and everything contrary to its name. McDonalds is located next to the Radisson. There are numerous red London buses running past these hotels, some routes running a 24×7 service into the nearest towns where much greater choice is available.
By the intersection of the airport motorway are clusters of isolated hotels. If you wish to get away from the hotel, it takes a bit of an effort. These are the Novotel, Holiday Inn (at the M4 Junction) Premier Inn (M4 Junction) and Crown Plaza.
On the other hand, if you want to go to Central London, you just have to go to Hatton Cross underground station with Central London only 40 minutes away. You can also use Terminal 4; a cab for two nonstop to T4 charges almost the same fare as the Hoppa Bus.
West of the airport, strung along the Bath Road, are the Sheraton, Thistle, Marriott Slough & Windsor and Quality Inn. A ten minutes walk will bring you to the pubs and restaurants of Longford or Langley. There’s also a bus service (temporarily inoperative) to all these hotels that runs to Windsor every 30 minutes, one hour on Sundays. It takes about 30 minutes to reach the castle.
Lowest Cost or Fully Flexible Rates:
The low-cost rates are exactly that; locate a similar airport hotel for much less within seven days of reservation. To ensure there is no risk for these low rates, you have to pay for your booking in advance. A management fee will be collected once you cancel your booking.
Completely flexible rates usually allow you cancellations up to the date of your stay without penalty. As a rule you will pay on check out.
One of the hotels adjacent to the airport is Holiday Inn (at the M4 Intersection) Heathrow. Below are the particulars:
Rooms Available:
Single/Double/Twin. Besides, family rooms are available for two grown-ups and one kid.
Car parking:
The hotel has extensive car parking at its location at ground level, around 450 parking slots.
The fee at present is £10 per day.
Facilities that each room boasts:
Ensuite bathroom, TV, telephone, pay-per-view movies, modem point, radio, hairdryer, trouser press, tea/coffee maker and mini bar.
Public Facilities:
Indoor bars, car rental desk, restaurants, shop, and fitness studio.
Restaurants hours: 11:00 – 23:00am.
Buffet breakfast is served from 06:00 Monday-Friday; 06:30 during Saturday and Sunday.
